Custom and restoration work often calls for a specific core material rather than the highest number on the sheet. The SAEJ1401-4 build uses a black nylon 12 core behind a 304 stainless steel braid, giving 4660 PSI working pressure with an 8000 PSI minimum burst at the standard 3.2mm bore.
The 304 braid resists expansion under pressure and does not degrade from exposure to brake fluid, while the PVC/PU coating shields the braid from wear and tangling during installation. Rated -65°C to +260°C.
