When the circuit needs volume rather than pressure, the 28.5mm bore is the answer. It is the largest in the bus range, and its rating reflects that role: 1.5 MPa maximum working pressure with a 12.0 MPa minimum burst — deliberately lower than the 3.5 MPa / 15.0 MPa figures of the 19mm and 22.2mm sizes, because the high-flow, lower-pressure side of a bus system does not see those peaks.
The trade-off is physical: a 5.75mm wall brings the outside diameter to 40.0mm and the weight to 831 g/m — nearly double the 428 g/m of the 19mm hose. A 6-metre run is about 5 kg of unsupported hose, so hanger spacing and clamp load deserve attention at the design stage.
